What is an Oral Biopsy?

Oral biopsies are surgical procedures for retrieving oral tissue used for diagnosis and treatment planning.

Purpose of an Oral Biopsy

Reasons for undergoing an oral biopsy range from unexplained inflammatory changes within your oral cavity that do not go away to oral or bone lesions that inhibit proper oral function, that we cannot be identified through x-rays, or that cannot be ruled out as cancerous.

If you have any further questions about oral biopsies or the oral cancer screenings, do not hesitate to call us. We would be happy to discuss your oral health and any appropriate oral biopsy procedures.
